This house is a straightforward Cape Cod design, with the classic two front-gabled roof dormers. The house is included on Altfillisch’s complete project list. The site plan for 312 Riverview (another Altfillisch house, just next door and included in this same tour) includes the building that became 310 Riverview, perhaps suggesting that the Weagants owned both lots before the two houses were built.

Bremness was the manager of several food markets in Decorah. His wife Gladys, a St. Olaf College graduate, was a teacher in Decorah. The Bremnesses were married in 1938 in Gladys’s parents’ Elkader home “at high noon” , with Pastor O. Glesne of Decorah Lutheran officiating (Decorah Journal, July 12, 1938). Newspaper articles of the period indicate that the Bremnesses and Weagants traveled together on vacations.
